The extraction and examination of phenolic acids and flavonoids of different plant species are performed, covering HPLC determinations and also in vitro antioxidant activity and polyphenol measurements. Examinations on the constituents and antioxidant properties of the wild-growing mint species Mentha longifolia is in process, with the aim to be used as a potential food industrial preservative. In the frame of a university-cooperation, a research dealing with the polyphenol profile of Lavandula spp. is also in progress.
