Since bee keeping is an extended part of the Hungarian agriculture, our multiple researches are dealing with origin protection of apiary products. The aim of these studies is the determination of the chemical composition of these products coupled to their geographical and botanical origin. For this purpose, carbohydrate profile of honeys with different botanical origin is examined, with an emphasis on the acacia honey (Robinia pseudoacacia) which is an important export product of Hungary. We also investigated the correlations between polyphenol composition and geographical origin of Hungarian propolis. A large number of samples from every region of Hungary were involved in the investigation to create the database of the composition of propolis.
