Examinations of volatiles of spices and herbs

The qualification of essential oils requires the determination of their components. The utilization of certain essential oils can be extended by the evaluation of their bioactive effects (eg. antibacterial or lipid peroxidation inhibitor). Thus, in the Institution we perform analysis of essential oils by GC-MS. This analytical basis can be completed with examination of in vitro antimicrobial and in vitro radical scavenging properties.
